About
Our group is located in the Department of Nuclear Medicine led by Prof. Wolfgang Weber at the Technical University of Munich (TUM).
Our lab houses an exceptional preclinical imaging laboratory with a hyperpolarizer, a 7 T animal MR scanner and an in-house developed small animal PET/MR insert , which operates simultaneously with a 7 T MRI scanner equipped with a cryogenically-cooled 13C transmit-receive coil. In addition, a clinical 3 T PET/MR scanner capable of multi-nuclear transmit-and-receive operation, e.g. for hyperpolarized 13C-labelled molecules facilitates translation of novel protocols to the clinic.
The CRC 824 consortium ‘Imaging for Selection, Monitoring and Individualization of Cancer Therapies’ located at TUM acts as a catalyzer for multidisciplinary research and offers many cooperation opportunities.
Also, the new Central Institute for Translational Cancer Research (TranslaTUM) at the campus of the Klinikum rechts der Isar with a dedicated preclinical imaging facility offers access to multimodal imaging equipment such as optoacoustic imaging, SPECT/CT and PET/MRI.
